Terms of Service

Welcome to Montra! By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Terms and Eligibility

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and
  • If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian to use the Services.

2. Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily download or access one copy of the materials within the Services for personal, non-commercial, transitory viewing only. Under this license you may not:

  • Modify or copy the materials;
  • Use the materials for any commercial purpose or public display;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained in the Services;
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notations from the materials;
  • Transfer the materials to another person or “mirror” the materials on any other server.

3. Disclaimer

The materials and Services are provided “as is.” Montra Interactive Inc. makes no warranties, expressed or implied.

3.1 No Professional Advice

Documents, tickets, and other output Montra generates from your recordings do not constitute professional advice.

3.2 Data Storage and Availability

Montra does not guarantee that any User Content or generated output will be stored, preserved, or remain accessible.

4. Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Montra Interactive Inc. or its suppliers be liable for any damages arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the Services.

5. Revisions, Service Changes, and Errata

We may at any time, without notice, make changes to the materials, or update, replace, or discontinue features of the Services.

6. Refund Policy

All purchases of subscriptions and recording packs are final and non-refundable.

7. Monitoring and Analytics

Montra uses PostHog to understand how features are used, and Sentry to capture errors and diagnostics, so we can improve the Services. See our Privacy Policy for what each one receives.

8. Links

The Services may link to, or let you connect, third-party sites and tools that Montra does not control. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

9. Site Terms of Use Modifications

Montra may revise these Terms at any time without prior notice.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.

11. User Content and Generated Documents

“User Content” means the recordings, audio, screenshots, annotations, transcripts, and text you create or upload using the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to that content.

11.1 License to Montra

You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant Montra a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display your User Content solely to operate and provide the Services to you and the people you share it with. We do not use your User Content to promote Montra without your explicit consent.

11.2 Content Captured in Recordings

A screen recording captures whatever is visible on the display you record, which may include confidential information, personal data, or third-party material. You are responsible for what you record and share, and for obtaining any consent required to record other people or their information.

11.3 Generated Output and User License

Montra does not claim ownership over the documents and tickets you generate using the Services.

12. Prohibited Use and Content Policy

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • Record any person, screen, or system without the consent required in your jurisdiction;
  • Capture, store, or share material you have no right to, or that infringes the rights of others;
  • Upload unlawful content, malware, or content that violates applicable law;
  • Circumvent usage limits, access controls, or share-link restrictions;
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Services as your own product.

13. AI Model Use and Limitations; Platform Role

The Services use third-party AI model providers to transcribe your recordings and generate documents and tickets from them. These models may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected output. Review generated output before relying on it or acting on it.

14. Fair Use and Abuse Prevention

Excessive or automated usage may result in throttling, account suspension, or termination.

15. Copyright Complaints and DMCA Compliance

Montra complies with the DMCA. Submit notices to support@montra.com.

16. Account Responsibility and Access

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

17. Plans and Billing

Montra offers a free plan and paid per-seat plans, billed monthly or annually through our payment processor. Paid plans include a monthly generation allotment measured in recording time, which resets each billing period and does not roll over. Recording packs may be purchased separately, are shared across your workspace, and do not expire. If a paid workspace becomes past due, its allotment is unavailable until payment succeeds.

18. Third-Party Services and Dependencies

Montra depends on third-party services to operate, including Supabase, Google Cloud, Deepgram, Stripe, PostHog, and Sentry, alongside additional AI model, email, and hosting providers. Our Privacy Policy describes what each receives. Their availability is outside our control.

19. Export Control and Sanctions Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export control laws and trade sanctions.

20. Beta Features and Experimental Tools

Beta Features are provided “as is” with no guarantee of stability.

21. Indemnification

You agree to fully indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Montra Interactive Inc.

22. Termination of Services

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the Services at any time.

23. Feedback and Suggestions

You grant Montra a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use any Feedback.

24. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

25. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Ontario, Canada. You waive the right to participate in class actions.
